Strategy Beyond the Syllabus

HEADER: The Academic Partnership

Elevating Co-Curricular Provision for the Independent Sector.

Elevate your school’s enrichment programme with executive-level strategy and resilience workshops.

Bastion & Wolfe partners exclusively with leading Preparatory and Senior Schools to deliver high-impact, intellectual enrichment.

In a competitive independent sector, academic excellence is the baseline. The differentiator is character. We exist to support your school’s mission in cultivating Critical Thinking, Oracy, and Future Leadership Skills.

We do not offer "childcare." We offer a rigorous extension of your curriculum, designed to prepare students for the demands of 13+ Common Entrance, Scholarship interviews, and the modern world beyond.

We do not just run clubs; we build faculties. Bastion & Wolfe partners with leading Preparatory and Senior Schools to deliver executive-level enrichment that requires zero administration from your school office. From weekly leadership modules to full-scale holiday summits, we provide the infrastructure, the curriculum, and the expertise.

AT A GLANCE:

Our Partnership Pillars

1. The Enrichment Portfolio (World-Class Curriculum)

We move beyond standard after-school care. Our syllabus is built on "Executive Intelligence"—Business, Strategy, Law, and Design. Whether it’s a 5-week termly block or a one-off "Strategy Day," our provision is designed to stretch your most ambitious students.

Explore our provision models, including Weekly Executive Blocks and Holiday Campaigns.

2. Turnkey Operations (Zero Administration)

Your school office is the engine room of your operation, and we refuse to add friction to it. We operate on a fully autonomous basis: we handle all parent enquiries, payments, registers, and marketing. You provide the space; we provide the entire operational infrastructure.

Read more about our logistics, revenue share models, and strategic scheduling.

3. The Fortress Standard (Safeguarding & Compliance)

We do not rely on minimum compliance; we exceed it. Operating to the 'Headteacher Standard,' every mentor is Enhanced DBS checked, Paediatric First Aid certified, and rigorously vetted. We provide full transparency on Risk Assessments and Public Liability (£5m) for your Governors' peace of mind.

View our Due Diligence documentation and compliance protocols.

4. Strategic Scheduling (Seamless Integration)

We design our calendar to complement, not clutter, the academic year. We strictly avoid the Summer Term to protect cricket and athletics fixtures, and our "Drop-Down" days are designed to slot perfectly into Enrichment Weeks or Post-Exam periods.

THE BASTION ADVANTAGE

  • Turnkey Convenience

    (Zero Administration)

We understand that your School Office is the engine room of your operation, and we refuse to add friction to it. Bastion & Wolfe operates a fully autonomous booking and management system.

We handle all parent enquiries, payments, registers, and communication. You provide the space; we provide the entire operational infrastructure. Your staff do nothing but unlock the door.

  • Financial Benefit

    (The Revenue Share)

We believe that high-quality co-curricular provision should be an asset, not a cost. We operate on a "Zero Cost to School" basis for all parents' paid clubs.

Furthermore, for our larger 'Turnkey Events' (such as evening galas or holiday camps), we offer a generous 20% Revenue Share back to the school or PTA. We turn your empty hall into a fundraising engine.

  • Uncompromising Safety

    (The Fortress Standard)

We do not rely on minimum compliance; we exceed it. Our team operates to the 'Headteacher Standard' of safeguarding.

  1. Strict 1:8 Ratios: Ensuring active mentorship, not just supervision.

  2. Elite Vetting: Every mentor holds an Enhanced DBS (Update Service), Paediatric First Aid certification, and Level 2 Safeguarding.

  3. Full Liability: We carry £5m Public Liability Insurance and conduct site-specific Risk Assessments for every session.

  4. Compliance: We are fully GDPR registered (ICO) and compliant with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) protocols.

  • Inclusivity & Access

    (The Bastion Scholarship)

We believe ambition should not be limited by finances. As part of every partnership, we empower the Headteacher to award one full scholarship place per cohort to a high-potential student who would benefit most from our programme, entirely free of charge. This ensures your most deserving pupils can access elite mentorship regardless of background.

  • Risk-Free Introduction

    (The Taster Menu)

We do not expect you to commit blindly. We invite schools to experience the Bastion method first hand through our complimentary engagement options:

  1. The Strategy Assembly: A high-energy, interactive session where students crack a live cipher code (20 mins).

  2. The Lunchtime Mission: A single-session workshop to trial student engagement (Free or Revenue Share models available).

  3. The Parent Evening: An exclusive presentation (Drinks & Strategy) for prospective parents to showcase the value of the programme.

  4. The Staff Consultation: A direct meeting with our Principal to discuss how our curriculum aligns with your school development plan.

  • Pastoral Care & Wellbeing

    (High Challenge, Low Threat)

We recognize that our cohorts are often navigating the pressures of 11+/13+ exams, puberty, and high expectations. While our workshops utilise "Executive" tools (Strategy, Debate, Logic), our environment is strictly non-pressured.
We distinguish between stress (which is harmful) and stretch (which creates growth). We provide a safe, age-appropriate space for students to experiment with adult concepts without the fear of failure, ensuring that "Serious Fun" never becomes "Serious Stress."

OUR PROVISION MODELS

Flexible delivery options designed to fit your timetable.

We offer four distinct engagement models, allowing schools to choose the level of integration that suits their curriculum and calendar.

1. The Co-Curricular Course (After-School)

Our most popular model. We integrate seamlessly into your existing enrichment timetable.

 * Format: 5-Week "Executive Modules" (running termly).

 * Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes per session.

 * Flexibility: Days and times are fully flexible to align with your school's current schedule.

 * Content: Short, sharp blocks of skill-building (e.g., Cipher School, Debating, Crisis Management).

2. The "Drop-Down" Strategy Day

(In-School)

An immersive, full-day experience designed for "Enrichment Weeks," "Post-Exam" periods, or PSHE days.

 * Format: Full School Day (08:30 – 15:30).

 * Focus: A single, high-stakes scenario (e.g., The Hostage Negotiation or The Pandemic Response) that requires students to use teamwork and logic to solve a complex problem by the final bell.

3. The Fellowship

(The Elite Society)

A prestigious, invitation-only or application-based tier for high-potential students (Scholarship/G&T cohorts).

 * Format: Continuous termly engagement.

 * Focus: This is not just a club; it is a society. Members ("Fellows") work towards a year-end graduation, building a portfolio of leadership skills suitable for senior school applications.

4. The Holiday Campaign

(Summer & Easter)

Premium holiday provision hosted on your school site.

 * Format: Week-long "Campaigns" during school holidays.

 * Benefit: Keeps the school active and generates revenue during quiet periods. We handle all marketing and staffing; you simply host the event.

STRATEGIC SCHEDULING

Key Dates & Timings.

We design our calendar to complement, not clutter, the academic year. We avoid high-pressure exam periods and busy sporting terms to ensure maximum student engagement.

1. The 5-Week "Executive" Blocks

(After-School)

 * Availability: Autumn & Spring Terms Only.

 * Structure: We run 5-week intensive blocks starting at the beginning of the term.

 * Rationale: We strictly avoid the Summer Term to allow students to focus on cricket, athletics, and end-of-year examinations.

2. The Fellowship

(Academic Year Programme)

 * Duration: September – May.

 * Structure: A three-term journey (Foundation, Application, Showcase).

 * Graduation: The programme concludes in late May, before the summer exam season begins, ensuring Year 6/Year 8 students are free to focus on Common Entrance or transition events.

3. Holiday Campaigns

(The Strategic Windows)

 * Easter: The Logic School (Focus on revision skills and mental agility).

 * Summer (July): The Golden Gap (Running the first two weeks of July to support working parents when Prep Schools break up early).

 * Summer (August): The Rust Remover (Running the final week of August to sharpen minds before the return to school).
